Sri R. Siddegowda and Smt. Lingamma, the founders of Manasa Educational Trust, hail from a humble rural agrarian background. Though they had limited formal education, their deep compassion for society and strong belief in the transformative power of education inspired them to establish the Trust in Kollegal, a predominantly rural region. Their vision was simple yet profound — to make quality education accessible to rural and economically disadvantaged students. What they lacked in academic privilege, they compensated with wisdom, service-mindedness, and an unwavering commitment to social upliftment. Their selfless initiative laid the foundation for institutions that continue to empower generations of learners and stand as a testament to how values, empathy, and purpose can create lasting educational change.

Dr. S. Dattesh Kumar MA, PhD
A visionary educationist and philanthropist, Dr. S. Dattesh Kumar founded Manasa Educational Trust with the noble aim of providing quality education to the rural populace of Kollegal and Chamarajanagar district.
His dream was to create an institution that not only imparts academic knowledge but also instills values, discipline, and social responsibility in students. Today, his leadership continues to guide the thousands of students who pass through our portals.
The Trust was founded by Dr. S. Dattesh Kumar, MA, PhD, whose vision for
holistic education continues to guide our institutions. The Trust is
administered by a dedicated management committee and supported by
experienced principals and faculty across its schools and colleges.
Our History
Manasa Educational Trust® was established in 1997 in Kollegal, Chamarajanagar District, Karnataka, with the singular mission of bringing quality education to a region that needed it most. Founded by Dr. S. Dattesh Kumar MA, PhD, the Trust began with a bold vision — to create an integrated educational ecosystem that would serve students from their earliest years through professional education.
Over the past 25+ years, the Trust has grown into a multi-institution academic community. Nisarga Vidyanikethana English Medium School (est. 1999) provides schooling from Pre-KG to X Standard. Nisarga Independent PU College (est. 1999) offers Science, Commerce, and Arts streams with integrated coaching for NEET, IIT/JEE, KCET, and CA Foundation. Nisarga College of Management (est. 1997), affiliated to Chamarajanagara University, delivers undergraduate programs including BCA, BCom, BBA, BA, and BSc. Nisarga Institute of Education (est. 2004) prepares future teachers through its B.Ed program, boasting a 100% pass percentage from 2022 to 2025.
The Trust is committed to inclusivity — offering free mid-day meals through the Manasa Akshaya Yojane, transportation services, separate hostel facilities, and career guidance. Today, Manasa Educational Trust® stands as a pillar of academic excellence, character development, and community service.
